Pulstar Installation

Pulstar Pulse Plugs require special care during installation.

• DO NOT DROP! Installing a pulse plug that has been dropped could result in poor driving performance and possible engine damage. 
• Pulstar pulse plugs should be gapped to the setting recommended by the engine manufacturer up to 0.055" (1.40mm). Do not gap greater than 0.055". For factory turbo or supercharged engines, gap Pulstar plugs to 0.025" (0.63mm).
• Prior to attaching the wires or coil, apply dielectric grease around the ceramic insulator at the terminal end of the plug to promote a quality electrical connection.
• Install plugs finger tight or by using a 3/8” hose or a spark plug threading tool to get the plug started in the head. Torque plugs using a 5/8” (16mm) deep socket without spark plug insert.
• Tighten Pulstar Pulse plugs to the vehicle’s factory recommended torque specification.
• On most computer-controlled vehicles, allow at least one tank of gas for the computer to learn the characteristics of the new plugs. You can speed up the learning process by disconnecting the negative battery terminal during installation. Remember to reconnect the terminal before attempting to start your car.
• If you have an onboard fuel economy computer, you may want to reset it during the installation of your new Pulstar plugs, and give the computer several tanks of gas to settle into the new average fuel economy reading.
